Fout Wars, Phase V, Week 1: The All-In Kid is All Over It

Phase IV of the  DFS and Tout Wars daily contest has concluded with three winners, none of whom had a particularly strong day last Friday as the cycle completed.

Jake Ceily took the top spot for the day with 157.95 points, and I actually acted like I could make some picks for a change, finishing second with 135.55, with the Rotobuzzguy, Howard Bender finishing third at 132.85.

However, the three golden tickets for Phase IV went to Michael Beller (473.35), Derek Van Riper (465) and Commissioner Todd Zola, who grabbed his second ticket to the finals with 461.05.

The overall contest is being waged at DraftKings and is four-fifths complete, indicating the season is flying by.  The tourney is desperate for finalists not named Link, Zola, or Wolf, so root for Brian and Bret, and even Jeff Boggis and me if you will!

You can check out the leaderboard as the season progresses, along with a wrap-up on ToutWars every Wednesday.

For the archivists, totals are gathered for all participants over five four-week periods, with the top three point-scorers per period getting golden tickets to the survivor tournament. That’s where the player with the most points after three contests will be crowned champion. Additionally, the highest-scoring player over all 20 weeks earns a wild-card entry to the tournament.

You can see the Touts’ recommendations as participants suggest a pitcher and hitter every Tuesday on the Tout Wars site.

James Paxton ($10,200): Paxton, who is due to be activated from the DL, faces the Giants who are hitting a paltry .238 against lefties with a league low 30 homers.

Wil Myers ($4400): Facing the hittable Zack Wheeler (4.44 ERA, 1.34 WHIP), Myers is in the midst of a hot period, batting .317-3-7 over his last 10 games with a season OPS of .910.
