This week is a bit different, as it looks like Draft has made an error on one of the pitchers going today.

Shane Bieber ($3,800). Bieber is less expensive than, among others, Homer Bailey, Mike Minor and Austin Gomber. Bieber is cheaper than Tyler Anderson facing Houston and Jeremy Hellickson pitching at Milwaukee. All in all, there are 21 pitchers with higher price tags, including the injured Blake Snell. To give you an idea about how big a mistake this is, Bieber is the 11th ranked pitcher on Fanduel. Granted, the scoring is a bit different, but bargains like this don’t come about very often. Now, briefly about Bieber. The University of California Santa Barbara product has won five of his seven starts, has given up just four homeruns (in over 43 innings), and is averaging just under one strikeout per inning. He’s significantly better at home (where this game is being played) with an ERA of just 2.81 and three wins in four starts. Yes, the Pirates are hot. However, Bieber will not only win the game, but win you some money as well.

Tommy Pham ($5,400). The Cubs/Cards game is going to be a shootout, with an over/under at 10. What else would you expect with Homer Bailey toeing the rubber for the Reds and Austin Gomber starting for St. Louis. You’re going to want to stack Rockies and Astros at Coors, so save money on both Bieber and Pham. Pham is finally healthy after what seems like a season’s worth of injuries. Pham carries a lifetime .375 batting average against Bailey and is hitting .367 and a .857 OPS, with a home run every fifteen at bats at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. The combination of Bailey and Great American can’t be overlooked.

Best of luck,

Buster
