Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds Week 2

Season-long basketball has started and the long battle to crown a champion has begun. This is the place to be to get all your info on guys you should adding to your rosters. Now NBA is longer than NFL so there will be more opportunities to pick up solid guys due to injuries or rotations.

Isaiah Canaan, Guard,  Phoenix Suns:

If you’re in need of 3-Pointers, Canaan could be a nice source for you. He had 15 points and three 3-pointers on Saturday and is averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 3-pointers through two games. Until Phoenix upgrades, their point guard position Canaan seems to be the guy getting the most minutes.

Rodney McGruder, Guard, Miami Heat:

McGruder has been hot after an awful eight-point debut on 2-of-9 shooting on Wednesday. In his last two performances, he’s scored 20 and 19 points respectively. He’s averaging 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.0 3-pointers on 50 percent shooting, and is getting a whopping 36 minutes a night. McGruder’s still available in most leagues.

Allonzo Trier, Guard, New York Knicks:

The 2018 second-round pick by the Hornets last year, signed a two-way deal with the Knicks this year; basically fighting for a spot on the team. After a hot preseason he hasn’t cooled off,  dropping 15 points on opening night. Here’s where things get interesting because Kevin Knox will miss a few weeks with a left ankle injury. Expect Trier’s minutes to rise from the 22 minutes he’s currently averaging. He’s averaging 12.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.0 3-pointers on 42 percent shooting.

Cedi Osman, Forward, Cleveland Cavaliers:

Osman was a man forgotten about when LeBron James was playing for Cleveland. Now, Osman is showing off his worth. He’s averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.0 3-pointers on 52 percent shooting and 34 minutes a game. He’s owned in a lot of leagues, but if he’s available in yours, get him immediately!

Bobby Portis, Forward, Chicago Bulls:

Portis, it’s about time! Portis was a favorite breakout last season but he was too inconsistent. Currently, he’s averaging 13 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.5 3-pointers on 37 percent shooting. He’s getting 31 minutes a night due to Lauri Markkanen being out. He should be owned in all leagues.

Jae Crowder, Forward, Utah Jazz:

Crowder is looking to redeem himself from last season being on three different teams (Jazz, Cavs, Celtics) and not playing his best basketball. So far so good for Crowder as he’s getting 31 minutes a night and is averaging 15 points, 6.0 boards, 2.0 assists, a steal and 2.0 3-pointer over two games. Only time will tell if he can continue these numbers.

Boban Marjanovic, Center,  Los Angeles Clippers:

Boban is a points per minute beast and Coach Rivers needs him this season. Boban is averaging 15.5 points and 6.5 boards on 71 percent shooting thus far. We’ve been teased in the past and hoping Rivers does the right thing here.

Damian Jones, Center, Golden State Warriors:

So much for all the Jordan Bell hype. Jones is the starting center in GSW until further notice (DeMarcus Cousins, in reality, won’t play until January) and had 12 points, three boards, two assists and three blocks on 6-for-7 shooting in Tuesday’s opener. Jones is worth an add and is averaging 8.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.5 blocks in 22.5 minutes a night.
