Marc’s Picks for the RealTime 50/50 Challenge, Aug. 18, 2018

Want to take on the Creativesports 2.0 staff, braino-y-braino, at DFS?

Well, you can indeed at RealTime Sports, matching up against my Creativesports 2.0 mates and me, and get some bragging rights in the process.

Tune in here daily, as we pick up the Creativesports 2.0 gauntlet where you can play our daily 50/50 game ($5) or come right after us — for we will rotate experts — on Fridays in the free Beat the Experts contest. Beat us and you can win $2, and that might be easier than you think!

Checking in with Mother Nature, the weather looks gloomy in several spots (Boston, Atlanta, Washington and Pittsburgh), so please check before first pitch at 7:05.  We have a 13-game Saturday night slate without stud pitchers to pencil in.  The best pitcher on the slate is Madison Bumgarner ($7,000) but he is in a bad spot in Cincinnati.

Zack Godley ($5,500): The righty has six or more strikeouts in six straight starts and has pitched into the seventh inning in three straight.  Pitching in San Diego against a weak hitting, high strikeout team looks like the best option on the board.

Nationals and Angels hitters are the guys I want to fill my lineup against Wei-Yin Chen and Drew Hutchison, respectively.  We will have to wait for lineups to post, but Bryce Harper ($6,700) and Kole Calhoun (still priced at a ridiculously low $2,900) are must-haves.  Mark Reynolds ($3,200) is the BvP play if he is in the lineup, with three career home runs in 12 at bats against Chen.
