Elaine’s DraftKings DFS EPL Picks for January 2, 2019

Happy New Year Everyone! Cheers to a new year of winning. DraftKings has six games for Jan. 2, 2019. The hottest players today are Hazard and the Red Devils’ Trio of Pogba, Rashford, and Martial. Hazard has a high floor and a nice vaulted ceiling, leading the league in assists and the fourth-highest goal scorer.

Chelsea will play at home against Southampton who has given up the fourth-most goals. Pogba has been on fire, scoring 71 fantasy points the last two games. If you want to invest more on the defensive side, the usual studs are available today: Holebas, Doherty, Young, and Alonso

The standard lineup at DraftKings consists of two forwards, two midfielders, two defenders, one goalkeeper, and one utility player. Saturday’s fixtures are below. The Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) comes from the Fantasy Premier League website. The rating is from 1-5 with one being the lowest difficulty rating and five being the highest difficulty rating (higher the rating, better the team).

Fixtures for Dec. 26, 2018

Home Team FDR Away Team FDR
Bournemouth 3 Watford 3
Chelsea 4 Southampton 2
Huddersfield 2 Burnley 2
West Ham 3 Brighton 2
Wolves 3 Crystal Palace 2
New Castle 2 Man United 4

Manchester United, F, Romelu Lukaku ($7,600): Lukaku is healthy now and priced at least $1,000 less than Pogba, Martial, and Rashford. The Belgian star came off the bench last week with 20 minutes left in the match and scored. You’ll have to check the lineup to make sure Lukaku is part of the starting XI.

Burnley, M, Ashley Westwood ($4,300): Westwood had 11.5 fantasy points last week against West Ham capitalizing from an increased role in set pieces. Westwood took four corner kicks and had six crosses. Previously, Gudmundsson was the key player for set pieces. If Westwood continues to have the opportunity, he has a low price going up against Huddersfield.
