Elaine’s DraftKings DFS EPL Picks for Feb. 2, 2019

DraftKings has six games on the slate for Feb. 2, 2019. Today’s slate doesn’t feature a selection of top EPL players. Hazard is the top player today and is intriguing. Chelsea imploded last week, losing to Bournemouth 0-4, which dropped the Blues out of the top four. Chelsea is at home today against last place Huddersfield. I am expecting some Chelsea goals. Burnley, Fulham, Cardiff, Southampton and Crystal Palace will look to avoid relegation.

The standard lineup at DraftKings consists of two forwards, two midfielders, two defenders, one goalkeeper, and one utility player. Saturday’s fixtures are below. The Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) comes from the Fantasy Premier League website. The rating is from 1-5 with one being the lowest difficulty rating and five being the highest difficulty rating (higher the rating, better the team).

Fixtures for Feb. 2, 2019

Home Team FDR Away Team FDR
Brighton 2 Watford 3
Burnley 2 Southampton 2
Chelsea 2 Huddersfield 2
Crystal Palace 2 Fulham 2
Everton 3 Wolves 3
Cardiff 2 Bournemouth 2

Chelsea, F, Gonzalo Higuaín ($7,000): Higuaín is Chelsea’s new striker on loan from Juventus. Since last week’s game against Bournemouth are his only EPL stats, the Argentine striker is a flyer this week. The Blues have been lacking a front attacker and hope Higuaín fills this role. Today’s match against Huddersfield would be a great spark.

Southampton, M, James Ward-Prowse ($8,400): Ward-Prowse has been on fire. The Southampton midfielder’s 8.9 fantasy points per game is nice, but it’s the 14.68 average points over the last five games that make Ward-Prowse caliente. He has been key to set pieces and scoring goals, which should continue this week as Southampton shares the pitch with Burnley, which has allowed the most shots and third most goals.
