Checking in with Mother Nature, the weather looks shaky in Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Washington, and Detroit, so check before first pitch at 6:10.  MLB welcomes back fantasy players after the all-star break with a 13 game Saturday night slate.  There are several aces among the starting pitchers and not a lot of great lower cost pitching options.

Justin Verlander ($8,200) is expensive but has owned Angels hitters in his career.  Trout, Upton, Simmons, Kinsler, Calhoun and Valbuena are 17-for-157 with 51 strikeouts lifetime against Verlander.  You will need to find some value to roster Verlander with some upper-end hitters.  The value appears to be in the outfield on Saturday.

Matt Carpenter ($4,500) is the red-hot elephant in the room with home runs in four straight games and four home runs in the first two games back after the all-star break.  Carpenter is relatively cheap which helps in rostering high-end starting pitchers.

Freddie Freeman ($6,700) has owned Gio Gonzalez in his career going 15-for-48 with four home runs and 17 RBI.
