How about a great holiday and a great weekend, with a solid Greenbrier behind us where my guys placed pretty well. So, this week we move to TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois, a couple hundred miles west of Chicago.
TPC Deere Run logs in at a solid 7,258 yards and features three fives including a long (595 yards) hole 10, though the 503-yard hole 9 argues to be the toughest with the “1” handicap. 
The course also features the requisite four threes, ranging from 156 to 225 yards, and the remaining fours range between 356 and that monster ninth hole, with three of the par fours registering under 400, though none look the easier.
This week I’m playing the $1 Triple Up at FantasyDraft, a format I really like because they drop the low score from your seven-man roster ($100K cap) for the weekend, so sign up and see if you can beat me!
This time I am again looking at GIR from 100 yards out, and also noting last year’s hot hands at this time — Bryson de Chambreau and Justin Thomas, for instance — and, of course, we all have our favorites.
Before I give my suggestions, note it is indeed midwestern weather, meaning some heat, some mugginess, and some rain to ideally wash it all away. Temperatures should be in the high 70s to low 80s, with 7-10 mph winds.
Zach Johnson ($17,400): What can I say? TPC Deere is Johnson’s home course and he is nine-for-nine playing the tourney all weekend. Good enough for me.
Steve Stricker ($16,200): More on the local knowledge, Stricker has three wins at Deere and is the all-time money winner for the tourney. Sold, redux.
Austin Cook ($15,300): Playing the hot hand, Cook finished fifth last week at Greenbrier and has been pretty steady with 15 cuts over 22 tries, three top 10s, and a win this season while averaging 103.31 FPPT.
Kevin Streelman ($14,100): I liked Streelman last week and though he finished at -2 for the first two days, that was not good enough to make the cut. Still, I like the guy who ranks 54th in GIR from 100 yards out and does have four top 10s among his 18 cuts made.
Joel Dahman ($13,900): Another of my picks from last week, Dahman did make the cut, finishing fourth, making for a solid value pick. Dahman has made 15 of 22 cuts this season and ranks #95 at GIR.
J.J. Henry ($11,300): Ranking #3 at GIR from 100, Henry hits the greens at a 92.31% making him a fantastic potential value selection. He only has one top 10 and averages just 64.43 points per week, but remember the low score is tossed out and Henry very well could surprise.
