Fout Wars Phase III, Week 3: Carty Comes Through

Tout Daily on DraftKings nears the half-way point of the tourney, desperate for finalists not named Link, Zola, or Wolf.

Well, sort of. In that last week, one of the dominant players from last year, Derek Carty, won weekly honors with 151.65 points, blasting the pack with another Derek — as in Mr. Van Riper — who logged 125.45. And, it turns out, Patrick Davitt banged out exactly the same 125.45 total, giving the pair ownership of second and third, respectively.

Overall, the two Dereks lead the pack, followed by Steve Gardner marking time in third place with two more weeks to go in this four-week cycle. You can check out the leaderboard as the season progresses along with a wrap-up on ToutWars every Wednesday.

For the archivists, totals are gathered for all participants over five four-week periods, with the top three point-scorers per period getting golden tickets to the survivor tournament. That’s where the player with the most points after three contests will be crowned champion. Additionally, the highest-scoring player over all 20 weeks earns a wild-card entry to the tournament.

You can see the Touts’ recommendations as participants suggest a pitcher and hitter every Tuesday on the Tout Wars site. There was rain in the midwest yesterday, but none is forecast for today, although clouds will haunt any number of stadiums from Atlanta to Minneapolis. So, do double check your rosters before first pitch.

Eduardo Rodriguez (11,100): Boston takes on Baltimore, who are mediocre against lefties, hitting just .232 with 163 strikeouts.

Christian Yelich  ($4900): Yelich has a sweet .410 OBP at home and goes against Tyler Chatwood — who has allowed 56 walks over 58 innings, and boasts a WHIP of 1.78 — meaning some phat pitches will be out there for the Brewers flychaser.
