Danny’s Picks for the RealTime Beat the Experts Challenge, Aug. 31, 2018

Want to take on the Creativesports 2.0 staff, braino-y-braino, at  DFS?

Well, you can indeed at RealTime Sports, matching up against my Creativesports 2.0 mates and me, and get some bragging rights in the process.

Tune in here daily, as we pick up the Creativesports 2.0 gauntlet where you can play our daily 50/50 game ($5) or come right after us — for we will rotate experts — on Fridays in the free Beat the Experts contest. Beat us and you can win $2, and that might be easier than you think!

Today’s slate only offers a couple of aces worth paying up for thanks to the struggles of Luis Severino. I’ll pair one of Corey Kluber or Zack Greinke him with a cheap starter to load up on a little extra offense. The Cubs/Phillies matchup should see some rain before and during the game, with the potential for cancellation if things get too bad.

Zack Wheeler ($5100): The 28-year-old has been totally dominant for more than a month, going 6-0 over his past seven starts with a 1.17 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 44 strikeouts against 10 walks in 46.0 innings. He’s in San Francisco’s friendly park against an even friendlier lineup.

Harrison Bader ($2600): The Cardinals’ breakout center fielder will be a hot name during next year’s draft season. For now, he’s a dirt cheap play against the Reds and the struggling Homer Bailey. Bader has hit .303 over the past month with a .917 OPS, four home runs, 13 RBI and three bags.
