Buster’s Picks for the RealTime 50/50 Challenge, September 18, 2018

Want to take on the Creativesports 2.0 staff, braino-y-braino, at DFS?

Well, you can indeed at RealTime Sports, matching up against my Creativesports 2.0 mates and me, and get some bragging rights in the process.

Tune in here daily, as we pick up the Creativesports 2.0 gauntlet where you can play our daily 50/50 game ($5) or come right after us — for we will rotate experts — on Fridays in the free Beat the Experts contest. Beat us and you can win $2, and that might be easier than you think!

We had a huge week last week, recommending Shane Bieber at $3800 (6 2/3 innings, 0 earned runs, 11 strikeouts and a victory) and AJ Pollock (3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base). Let’s see if we can continue that success today.

Blake Snell (4900): A season long Buster favorite, Snell draws a weak Ranger team playing for nothing. Snell has been lights-out in September, winning all three of his starts with an ERA of 1.89, and he 1-0 against the Rangers this year with an impressive 1.42 ERA. Meanwhile, the Rangers hit .241 against lefties this year, and most of those lefties haven’t nearly the talent as Snell. This projects to be a big Snell performance at only the 12th highest price tag for pitchers.

Ronald Acuna (5100): This is the proverbial “perfect storm.” Acuna is hot (eight hits in his last four games; .333 batting average and 18 home runs in 219 post all star game at bats). He’s playing at home where he has flashed the most power, and he draws Austin Gomber. Gomber has lost his last two outings, giving up ten runs in just nine innings, seeing his ERA rise a full point in the process. This sets up for a big day for Acuna.

Best of luck. Don’t blink.

Buster
