Buster’s Picks for the RealTime 50/50 Challenge, Aug. 21, 2018

Want to take on the Creativesports 2.0 staff, braino-y-braino, at DFS?

Well, you can indeed at RealTime Sports, matching up against my Creativesports 2.0 mates and me, and get some bragging rights in the process.

Tune in here daily, as we pick up the Creativesports 2.0 gauntlet where you can play our daily 50/50 game ($5) or come right after us — for we will rotate experts — on Fridays in the free Beat the Experts contest. Beat us and you can win $2, and that might be easier than you think!

Blake Snell (4900). Snell has given up one earned run in his last 14 innings, including five shutout innings at Yankee Stadium, and he is facing the lowly Royals. Yet, Snell is the 12th most expensive pitcher, behind the likes of Dylan Bundy and Ivan Nova, among others. I don’t get it. Granted, Snell doesn’t go deep into games, but he has won two straight and six of his last eight starts, so he’s pitching long enough to get you that W. Go ahead and pass on Tanaka and Corbin and use the savings on your offense.

Didi Gregorius ($5800). I’m not a Gregorius fan. He killed me when I had him, and the times that I don’t have him, he’s killed me by helping my opponents. Despite my dislike for the shortstop, I’m going big on Didi today. Gregorius draws the Marlins and Pablo Lopez. The two have never seen each other, but Gregorius is a better hitter than Lopez is a pitcher, so I’m giving the edge to Didi. Lopez has been particularly awful this year, and has lost his last four outings. The Marlins aren’t going anywhere and will give the 22-year old Lopez enough rope to hang himself, so he’ll be in there for at least three of Didi’s hits.

Best of luck. Don’t blink.

Buster
