Top Scoring Players During The 2018 Fantasy Football Playoffs

Every year there are a handful of players who completely dominate in the fantasy playoffs. A list is released each year outlining the players on the most championship rosters. While that list has not been released yet, most of the players on that list are top scoring players during Week’s 14 – 16. Let’s take a look at who those players are this year.

Todd Gurley – RB – Rams

  • Total Points:                        123.1
  • Lowest Scoring Game:     28.5
  • Highest Scoring Game:   49.6

Breaking Jamaal Charles 2013 fantasy record of 99.7 points in Weeks 14-16, Gurley not only broke record, he demolished it by 23.4 points. What more needs to be said besides Todd is an absolute monster.  Gurley has solidified himself with the fantasy elite and a performance like this one will lock him up to be a top 5 fantasy draft pick in 2018. It wouldn’t even be crazy to consider him with the first overall pick.

Le’Veon Bell – RB – Steelers

  • Total Points:                        87.7
  • Lowest Scoring Game:     20.7
  • Highest Scoring Game:   39.5

Coming through once again for fantasy owners. Bell was exactly as advertised this season posting career highs in both rushes and receptions. Bell also has played in every game this season which he hasn’t been able to say since 2014. While his touches increased,  his efficiency did decrease but Bell certainly did more than enough to get teams into the playoffs. Once in the playoffs Bell caught fire averaging 29.2 fantasy points per game including a massive 39.5 point game in Week 14.

Kareem Hunt – RB – Chiefs

  • Total Points:                         83
  • Lowest Scoring Game:     20.6
  • Highest Scoring Game:   39.6

After Week 3, Hunt owners were already deciding on what to spend their league winnings on. Its understandable considering the rookie scored 96.8 points over that three-game stretch. Unfortunately, Hunt’s final touchdown of the regular season came back in Week 3. The result was an extreme drop in production. How big exactly? Well, The rushers 32.3 PPG average dropped to 11.8 PPG during Weeks 4-12. Almost as quickly as it left, the magic returned in the first week of the playoffs. Kareem instantly redeemed himself posting 22.8 fantasy points. Since that game the rookie has been on fire. Hunt’s 450 scrimmage yards and 4 touchdown pace would be good for 2400 yards and 21 TD’s if it were to last all 16 games.

DeAndre Hopkins – WR – Texans

  • Total Points:                         70.4
  • Lowest Scoring Game:      16.5
  • Highest Scoring Game:    35.9

Hopkins has been nothing short of spectacular this season. An argument could be made that he is the best receiver in the NFL. I don’t personally believe that is an argument that can be won but Hopkins’ production this year has been stellar. Despite the QB’s in Houston being complete garbage, Hopkins still managed to average 23.5 PPG Weeks 14-16. Most impressively was a 16.5 point performance against a very tough Jaguars pass defense.

Keelan Cole – WR – Jaguars

  • Total Points:                         67.3
  • Lowest Scoring Game:      16.8
  • Highest Scoring Game:    31.6

This must be The Twilight Zone because this injury riddled Jaguars passing offense has been playing at it’s best. Certainly proven to be one of the deepest wide receiver groups in the entire league. It seems like every receiver whether starting or not has the upside of being a starter on any team in the league. Keelan Cole was a hard person to trust as more than a flex but through the playoffs he was a top end WR1. His production really took off when Marqise Lee got injured. Most of the production was thought to go to Westbrook but the true beneficiary was Keelan Cole. The Rookie’s 131 YPG led all receivers through that span and will make him an interesting late round flier next season.

Michael Thomas – WR – Saints

  • Total Points:                         62.6
  • Lowest Scoring Game:      10.3
  • Highest Scoring Game:    27.7

Thomas has been given a lot grief this season for not performing to his draft day price tag. It’s not that Thomas has been bad, it’s that he never really had those explosion games:  Those games with 100+ yards and multiple touchdowns. Quietly, however, the receiver finished as the the #6 Wide Out, posting two of his best games Weeks 14 and 15. Considering The Saints have two of the league’s most productive rushers in the backfield, Thomas’ classification as a disappointment is more fiction than fact.
