Checking in with Mother Nature, heavy winds are anticipated in Kansas City while the Twins are looking at near-freezing (34 degrees) compounded with anticipated rain and even snow, so check your rosters accordingly.

Mike Leake ($4600): Oakland hits right-handers pretty effectively, notching a .271 average with 13 big flies, but they also tend to score those runs in bunches, meaning some games are lean with respect runs. In Seattle the Mariners should have the advantage. Leake, who is 2-0, 3.00 over a pair of starts and 12 innings, might even be able to boost his whiff total from four to double digits against the young Athletics, who can indeed swing and hit but they miss a lot, too (81 strikeouts out of 317 at-bats facing righties).

David Freese ($3000): A clear platoon situation, with Freese getting a nod over Colin Moran when facing Miami and their left-handed starter, Dillon Peters. Peters registers at 1-1, 9.35. The third sacker has a career line of .301-27-124 against letfies over 816 at-bats, so today’s game offers a chance for Freese to boost his season line of .333-2-3.
