Zach Ertz TE, Eagles: concussion
Ertz took a big hit in the middle of the field in the third quarter, leaving him with a concussion. He laid on the ground appearing dazed and then walked off under his own power. Ertz is now in concussion protocol and must get cleared in the next week if he is going to play in week 14. He does not have a history of concussions, but one week is still a quick turnaround.
The Eagles suffered a tough loss, scoring just 10 points Sunday night. They have a crucial matchup with the Rams in week 13. Without Ertz, a player who has turned into Carson Wentz’s security blanket, the offense would have a much tougher task. Ertz was previously sidelined in week 9 after suffering a hamstring strain.
Matthew Stafford QB, Lions: right hand bruise
Once again, Matt Stafford is dealing with an injury. He is as tough as they come and always plays through the pain, no matter how bad. Entering week 13, he was dealing with an ankle injury from the Lions’ Thanksgiving game. On Sunday, he left in the fourth quarter and was unable to finish the game. Stafford’s throwing hand was hit when he threw an interception, leaving him with a lot of swelling. X-rays were negative, so he is just dealing with a bruise. While it’s going to be a painful injury for a week or two, it’s one he can play through.
Stafford is now a High Injury Risk. He has bounced between Elevated and High all year due to all of his injury concerns. With a Below Average Health Performance Factor, he won’t have his best game against the Bucs next week.
Dak Prescott QB, Cowboys: right hand bruise
Like Stafford, Prescott injured the top of his throwing hand. He was hurt when he took a helmet to his hand while running an option play. X-rays were negative. It was quickly evident that his hand was swelling up, and he didn’t look like the same player when he returned to the field. Prescott may miss some practice time this week, but he is not in danger of missing week 14.
Tyrod Taylor QB, Bills: patellar tendon contusion
Taylor was hurt early in the game when he tweaked his knee but tried to fight through it. Later in the third quarter he hurt it again and had to be carted off of the field. He appears to have avoided a serious injury During the game we reported that it was likely an MCL sprain or a bone bruise. He was seen landing hard on the top of his knee. He is considered day-to-day, but this injury can come with a 4 week Optimal Recovery Time.
Delanie Walker TE, Titans: right ankle sprain
Delanie Walked sprained his right ankle earlier in the year and appeared to tweak it again on Sunday. It was late in the game, so it’s unclear how much it would have affected him. Walker could miss practice time this week, but expect him to play on Sunday. Even if he isn’t 100%, he is a valuable fantasy option because of his ability to find the end zone.
C.J. Fiedorowicz TE, Texans: concussion
A week 1 concussion landed C.J. Fiedorowicz on IR. He returned two months later but is once again in concussion protocol. We said last time that his concussion could end his career, and the same applies this time around. He has a very long, concerning history of concussions, including three this season and one late in the 2016 season.
