From south of the border to the American South, the tour moves to the Sea Island Resort this weekend on the appropriately named Sea Island, Georgia for the RSM Classic.
Despite a rough week and some downed trees thanks to Hurricane Irma, we’re looking at two courses — Plantation and Seaside — that are 7005 and 7058 yards, respectively. Seaside is a par 70, while Plantation is 72.
Last year -5 was the cut line, suggesting greens in reg is the key to success.
Don’t forget, you can join a foursome playing the DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA.
Charles Howell ($9500): Howell ranks #21 at GIR, is off a #4 finish at the OHL, and is four-for-four making the cut this season.
Zach Johnson ($9100): Johnson has sort of fallen off the map. Perhaps consistency — like dropping from 66th in GIR last week to 122 this week — would help, but he is two-for-two making the cut thus far and I have this Zen feeling he is due.
Patton Kizzire ($8900): Kizzire ranks 34th in GIR, an improvement from 40th last week, and though he has missed a cut Kizizre is averaging 80.8 fantasy points with three top 10s.
Jamie Lovemark ($8400): Lovemark has a top 10, has made three of four cuts, and ranks 58th in GIR, along with fitting my strategy of trying to cover the middle of the salary cap field.
Patrick Rodgers ($7500): Rodgers has a pair of top five finishes at the RSM in past years and has four of five cuts made under his belt this year.
Martin Flores ($6600): Flores is so consistent as a pick for me and, though he has dropped in GIR this season, he was among the best at the stat last year. Probably more sentimental than anything, but he does fill the low-end pick for me.
