Tout Daily on DraftKings is indeed back. And, because the first month got a late start, today notches a special edition of Fout Wars.
That means champ Tout Wars DFS players like Todd Zola and Derek Carty, plus sneaky good ones like Lenny Melnick and Patrick Davitt, along with the Jeff Boggises of the world (Jeff is 30 points ahead of me at this point) and I get to take on one another in the Tout DFS Tourney that culminates with a survivor playoff in August.
Totals are gathered for all participants over five four-week periods, with the top three point scorers per period getting golden tickets to the survivor tournament where the player with the most points after three contests will be crowned champion. Additionally, the highest scoring player over all 20 weeks earns a wild-card entry to the tournament.
Following a big Tuesday, Lord Z (139.65) has popped into the lead with 401 total points with Rick Wolf (384.15) second and Phil Hertz (381.2) third. However, the big point man Tuesday was RotoWire’s Clay Link who logged 197.3 points, vaulting Link to the #4 slot with 368 points, easily within striking distance of the leaders. You can check out the leaderboard as the season progresses along with a wrap-up on ToutWars every Wednesday.
And you can see the Touts recommendations as participants suggest a pitcher and hitter every Tuesday on the Tout Wars site.
Sean Manaea ($5800): Coming off his no-no, Manaea has pretty impressive totals, winning his past two starts (16 innings, 0.53 ERA, 0.375 WHIP, 14 whiffs) and the Astros are hitting .255 versus Southpaws, but with 75 whiffs against them, sixth worst in the Majors.
Eduardo Escobar ($3500): The switch-hitting Escobar is batting .364-2-4 this week, raising his season line to .303-3-11 with a .351 OBP, and facing the struggling Luis Castillo (1-3, 6.51, 1.446 WHIP) the Twins shortstop makes a nice value pick.
