Tout Daily on DraftKings going full tilt, with Phase II of the tournament winding to a finish this week. Jeff Erickson led the pack Week 3, nailing 156.55 points, with Rob Leibowitz finishing second (143.6) and Erickson’s RotoWire compatriot, Tim Heaney, logging a third place spot with 131.8 points on a day when the weather wrought some havoc over picks.
Fellow RotoWireian Clay Link, who is second among the overall crowd with 882.05 points, leads the cycle with 387.9, followed by Gene McCaffrey (340.45) and then Leibowitz (335.33), although the overall leader continues to be Lord Zola himself, who has 884.45, just 2.40 points ahead of Link, while Rick Wolf holds third with 820.95.
You can check out the leaderboard as the season progresses along with a wrap-up on ToutWars every Wednesday.
For the archivists, totals are gathered for all participants over five four-week periods, with the top three point-scorers per period getting golden tickets to the survivor tournament. That’s where the player with the most points after three contests will be crowned champion. Additionally, the highest-scoring player over all 20 weeks earns a wild-card entry to the tournament.
And you can see the Touts’ recommendations as participants suggest a pitcher and hitter every Tuesday on the Tout Wars site. And, do check your rosters before first pitch as rain is anticipated in Washington and New York.
Jeremy Hellickson ($8000): The somehow resurrected Hellickson (2.20 over 32.6 frames with 26 whiffs with 0.857 WHIP) faces the Padres, inept when hitting (.227, MLB low 24 homers off righties) against right-handers.
Evan Gattis ($3400): The Astros backstop has broken out of his slump somewhat, hitting .276-3-7 over his last 10 games, and batting against lefty Andrew Suarez, who has allowed a .338 average and six homers to right-handers.
