Elaine’s Picks for the RealTime 50/50 Challenge, June 24, 2018

Well, you can indeed at RealTime Sports, matching up against my Creativesports 2.0 mates and me, and get some bragging rights in the process.

Tune in here daily, as we pick up the Creativesports 2.0 gauntlet where you can play our daily 50/50 game($5) or come right after us — for we will rotate experts — on Fridays in the free Beat the Experts contest. Beat us and you can win $2, and that might be easier than you think!

Going for the bargain home runs today. Sunday is bright with aces like Chris Sale, Justin Verlander, and Jose Berrios on the slate. Nolan Arenado has found one hell of a groove and has a great matchup today. These studs aren’t cheap, but some high potential gems make room in your budget.

Weather looks good for all games. The East Coast gets some sunshine so I can finally recharge my chlorophyll.

Mark Trumbo ($3500): I said the O’s are dying, and not only did they come alive but the TrumBomb exploded. In the last seven days, the Home Run King of 2016 is hitting .346 with four homeruns. Although Trumbo batted a .250 with four at-bats against McCarthy, the O’s showed on Friday that waiting for the Braves’ bullpen works just fine.

Leonys Martin ($2600): Like high risks? Martin is hitting .254 with nine HRs for the season, last home run was June 10. BUT… The Southpaw will face Adam Plutko who has given up eight home runs in 25 innings – five of which came against lefties, six at home. Why at home? Progressive Field ranks 9th in home runs for left-handed hitters.
