Games look to favor pitchers today. Charlie Morton and Blake Snell whose combined ERA is 4.75 will duel it out today. Mike Trout is the most expensive batter at $7200 facing O’s pitching in Camden Yards. So, let’s look at a couple of players that will make room for Morton and Trout.

Looks like a beautiful day! 16 mph winds going out are predicted at Wrigley Field. Hmm…

Ross Stripling ($4500): Stripling has a 1.98 ERA, 89 strikeouts, and typically pitches six innings. Looking at split stats, the ERA is 1.81 with four wins and no losses. Yes, Stripling will face the Rockies, but not at Coors Field. The Rockies .231 away batting average ranks 24th.

Robinson Chirinos ($3300): Catchers on Sunday… Chirinos had the 27th and 28th off so good chance he plays today. The veteran catcher is on a streak batting .412 with three home runs in the last seven games. While not sustainable, we’re hoping it continues at least one more day.
