There are seven NBA games on the main Friday January 19th slate at Draft Kings. I enjoy playing these mid-size slates and I especially like to search for the right value plays to go along with high priced studs I’m targeting like Nikola Jokic and John Wall.
The contests begin at 7:00 pm tonight so be sure to check and see if the players you have selected are actually playing tonight.
The standard lineup at Draft Kings consists of one point guard, one shooting guard, one small forward, one power forward, one center, one guard, one forward and one utility player.
With all the high priced options tonight we are going to need to find some solid value plays. For me that means players priced at $5,000 dollars or less that have the upside to return anywhere from six times value or more.
I have two such players under $5000 and one player slightly over $5000 that I am considering for Friday night’s slate.
If you ever watched Sacramento Kings PF/C Zach Randolph ($5200) play against the Portland Trail Blazers in the Moda Center than you know what’s probably going to happen on Friday night when the Kings face the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis. It is basically a Zach Randolph night as the Grizzlies will be honoring him for his years of outstanding play as a member of the Grizzlies. Randolph’s price is down and even though he hasn’t exceeded six times value in a while he’ll be jacking up as many shots as his 25-30 minutes will allow him to. It won’t hurt that the Grizzlies have coughed up a whopping 92.5 Draft Kings points per game over their past five games either.
Detroit Pistons SG/SF Reggie Bullock ($4500) has exceeded six times value in just one of his past five games but Friday is a good opportunity to do some damage against a Washington Wizards defense allowing small forwards to average an unusually large 115 Draft Kings points per game over their past five games. Bullock is averaging just over 30 minutes a night and if he gets those same minutes on Friday it could be a very good thing.
The Indiana Pacers are on the second game of a back to back and against a Los Angeles Lakers defense allowing 74.1 Draft Kings points per game I like point guard Corey Joseph ($4000) a LOT on Friday. Joseph has exceeded seven times value in two of the past five games while averaging just over 25 minutes a night. It won’t take much at this price point for Joseph to reach six times value and probably at low ownership to boot.
Good luck at Draft Kings!!
