There are deals on pitching today, with starters riding hot streaks facing off against less-than-fearsome hurlers and lineups. The weather looks to be cooperative across the slate, with a little rain possible in Atlanta but nothing to bench Freddie Freeman over.
Seth Lugo ($3500): Feel free to substitute Ross Stripling here, but I’m taking the converted Mets reliever fresh off six innings of two-hit ball with eight Ks and no walks against the monster Yankees lineup last week. The righty is sitting on a 1.77 ERA and 0.85 WHIP on the year with 47 strikeouts against just nine walks. He’s up against the struggling Diamondbacks and Zack Godley.
Miguel Andujar ($3400): The price is right on the 23-year-old third baseman, who has impressed during his rookie season, as if the Yankees deserve even more break-out players (Gleyber Torress is a similar DFS deal). Over the past month, Andujar is hitting .338 with a 1.063 OPS, five homers and 14 RBI. The underlying stats back up Andujar’s production thus far, plus he doesn’t like to walk — more swings for us.
