The irrepressible Rotobuzzguy/Fantasy Alarmist Howard Bender took charge last weekend, posting 143.8 points, largely on the backs of Jared Goff and Sterling Shepard, which is great. However, despite the Week 10 mastery, Bender, in eighth overall place, still trails the leader, RotoWire’s Tim Heaney, by 161 points.
Part of the reason is that Heaney finished second for Week 10 and was already in first, thus the 134.5 points his squad posted just added to his lead — with breathing room (last week it was less than a couple of points) and 1216.8 points for the year.
Sammy Reid of Fangraphs finished third for the cycle with 131.1 points, and that total helped push Reid into third overall with 1174.6 points, just 15.3 behind second place guy Rudy Gamble. Gamble, of Razzball, had a low week with 108.3 points, #12 overall for the week.
The DFS game, hosted by our friends at Fantrax, includes 22 players en route to an overall points champion come the end of the season. The spin is that we construct a basic lineup that can be tweaked weekly, adding or subtracting players depending upon how the dollar values adjust within the cap. The league also allows for a pair of quarterbacks, and no kickers or defense!
Check out the results following Week 3 and watch as the point totals grow and the Touts try to adjust and outsmart one another as the season progresses. Live totals can be viewed here.
